Aqueous Dip Adhesive
The Finishing Company endeavors to provide the highest quality aqueous dip adhesives. In partnership with the Lord Corporation, we offer multiple (Chemlok®) aqueous based chemistries.
As government volatile emission standards regarding Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) became more stringent, the necessity arose for alternative rubber to metal bonding processes. Traditionally, a solvent was utilized in the operation but in 2001 the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) mandated a change to its Toxics Release Inventory (TRI). From this mandate was born the advent of Aqueous Dip Adhesives.
Studies have proven that aqueous dip adhesives perform equal to or greater than the former solvent based processes. At the same time, the tax on the environment caused by VOCs and sludge has been greatly reduced. The Finishing Company is excited to offer this superior process to their rubber to metal bonding market.
Rubber to Metal Bonding Process
The rubber to metal bonding process is generally used in the isolation of noise and vibration. This process can be applied to small components found in automobiles as well as large parts used in bridges and buildings to reduce translational movement. The Finishing Company successfully applies aqueous dip adhesives to vibration dampening components for the automotive, motorcycle and recreational industries.
